DFW has experienced record heat and drought over the past 2 months of Summer! Not only has it been 100 degrees for countless consecutive days, nearly 53 days of little to NO precipitation, and only 12.41 inches of rain for 2022 as a whole for most areas in DFW… but DFW hit 109 degrees on July 18th making it the 8th HOTTEST day in all of DFW’s history!
Will There Be Any Relief?
That’s a good question. WC’s best guess is that it will be until mid August before DFW could see higher rain chances in general. While this news is discouraging, there is some hope for this weekend’s rain chances. Currently there seems to be a slight possible parts of DFW could see some amount of precipitation, although not everyone by any stretch will see precipitation.
Unfortunately this heat and drought has cost DFW a lot… In Dallas on Monday the 25th there was a devastating grass fire that destroyed over a dozen homes with many more damaged.
It is important to be VERY careful when the fire risk is to the extreme danger that it is. Refer to the links below in order to learn about the fire danger in your area and keep you safe when it comes to heat danger.
