About the Book
Into the Storm is one wild ride that’s for sure. In this book you go from chase to chase; storm to storm; almost no breaks at all. Reed Timmer, as you discovery in this book, dedicated his college life chasing every storm he could find, even if they were hundreds of miles away from Norman Oklahoma (his college town). Starting out, Reed was just scratching the surface of storm chasing. He had low quality equipment and was not recognized by the public by any means. It was just a hobby he and his friends would do between college classes and over weekends. The issue was, Reed wanted this to be more than a hobby. As a storm adrenaline junky, he would take chasing to whole new levels. His daringness and burning energy in his chases scared some of his friends, but for Reed it only revealed to him more and more how much he was fascinated in storms and tornadoes. After making some decent storm intercepts and making some money to live off of, he decided he wanted to commit more of himself to chasing.
This led to several hard patches of his life. He lost several of his chasing partners. Many had finished their schooling and they decided Reed was too intense of a storm chaser for them. Many of them went on to live their lives, get a job, start a family. In addition, Reed was striking out over and over on storms. He was essentially penniless and he seemed to be in a hopeless spiral. He had to make a choice. Was he going to commit to chasing despite the risks, or move on even though he felt like he couldn’t be anyone else but a storm chaser / meteorologist?
In this emotionally battle, Reed pushed on and tried harder than ever with storm chasing, putting in everything he had. He scored huge. He and one of his friends made the news over several huge tornado intercepts in Manchester, South Dakota. He made so many video footage sales with media companies and he was invited onto several news networks to be interviewed. This was an incredible high for Reed in his life.
Reed goes on later in life to star in many shows. He is well known for being the most daring storm chaser to this day, and he continues to be with every storm that comes his way. Intercepting more than 300 severe storms / tornadoes, Reed will continue to break records and capture astonishing video for his YouTube channel.
