Yesterday, September 22, was the first day of Fall 2022. Fall is a wonderful time for many – with the changing of tree leaves, the cooler temperatures, and the holidays coming up! But for North Texas, it sure doesn’t feel like Fall yet.
On the first day of fall, DFW reached 99 degrees in the late afternoon. This is due to the persistent La Nina that continues to make North Texas remain hot. A La Nina is a warm dry airmass that comes from the Pacific Ocean and can strongly affect how the south experiences seasons.
Here’s the good news! DFW is almost through the heat. It is forecasted that by next Monday and Tuesday (the 26-27th), Texas will switch gears and Fall temperatures will officially arrive to STAY. Mid 80’s during the days and mid to low 60’s at nights will be expected with a continually colder trend as we move into October.
So plow through the heat now and get ready for some Fall temperatures soon!
