Tonight will be a sky watcher’s dream! Five planets, plus possibly a First Quarter Moon just beyond Mars, will be lining up and visible to the naked eye. So, grab some binoculars or better yet a telescope and head outside about 20-25 minutes after the sun has set, preferably to an area with an unobstructed view of the sky, and look West just above the horizon. But be on time! Mercury and Jupiter will fall below the horizon within half an hour or so. If you need help locating the planets in the night sky, use an app like SkyView and be sure to pray for clear weather to help aid our view. Have fun viewing this rare astronomical event!
Visible tonight, Mar 28 – Mar 29, 2023
