More Rain in DFW / 25% OFF in WC Shop

The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is in for another round of heavy rainfall, adding to the already saturated ground. Weather forecasts indicate that rain totals of 2 to 5 inches are possible across different parts of DFW tonight and into the early hours of tomorrow morning!

The concern surrounding this weather event has led to a flood watch being issued for much of the metroplex for the evening. This flood watch highlights the potential risk of flooding as a result of this slow-moving line of thunderstorms. Localized flooding in low-lying areas and along streets is a possibility. Additionally, water levels in creeks and rivers may rise, posing a threat to areas near waterways.

While the rain is essential for replenishing water sources, it’s crucial for residents to stay informed and exercise caution. This means being prepared for potential flooding, especially if you live in areas prone to such incidents. Storms are expected to start arriving by 6 PM for some parts of DFW and will most likely last much of the night through tomorrow morning!

More rain will follow this weekend and into next week! Stay tuned for more information about upcoming rain and a major cold front! WC is also working on releasing the 2023-2024 Winter Outlook blog soon too!

Stay weather aware Texas!

Dallas residents should take this watch seriously and be prepared for the possibility of flooding in low-lying areas, along streets, and near waterways. Roadways may become hazardous, and travel could be affected. It’s wise to stay tuned to local weather updates and be ready to adjust your plans accordingly.

Safety Precautions:

  • If you encounter a flooded area while driving, turn around; it’s not worth the risk.
  • Keep emergency supplies, like flashlights and non-perishable food, easily accessible.
  • Stay informed through weather apps, local news, or a NOAA weather radio.
