Harvest Moon / Partial Lunar Eclipse

On September 17th, a Harvest moon and a partial lunar eclipse will be visible. The Harvest Moon is defined as the Full Moon closest to the autumnal (fall) equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, which this year is September 22. The harvest moon will also appear to be 13-14% bigger and 27-30% brighter!

A partial lunar eclipse will also be visible later that night. While this eclipse has only an 8% coverage, it is still worth looking at! Be sure to head out that night to look at the moon!
