WC Account Information
How do I become a member?
Under the side Bar Login there is a Register button. There is also a “Create an Account” button on the menu bar of Texas Weather Center. Click this and it will take you to another page where you can plug in email, name, and new password to make your Weather Center Account. Make sure to activate your account after via email to be able to use it. This will allow you to make forum posts, edit your profile, and earn points in the WC community!
How can I edit my profile?
Login in by going to the “Login in” Page on the menu and enter the fields specified. After You can edit your profile by clicking on your picture that appears on the sidebar of Weather Center or going to “WC Membership” page. There you can plug in a bio, cover photo, avatar, and change your password. All data is private except your username, bio, and avatar photo but should remain limited with no private things shared.
How do I submit a Weather Photo?
Login to your account, then go to your profile by clicking your account name. Then, the first way to add a photo privately for just yourself to see is by going to Activity, uploading an image using the image uploader bar, and posting there. The second way for public viewership is joining the group called “Weather Photos” under WC Groups, and then uploading there to all group members. Do this by clicking the photo icon right above the text field where you submit your activity post. Then add your photo file from your phone or computer. Make sure to follow the terms of use in the group.
How do I private message someone?
This feature is no longer supported. View change log to see why. The feature may be reintroduced into WC’s update roadmap sometime in the future.
How do I send a friend request?
Simply go to the “WC Members” page and say “Send friend request” to your desired member. If you are trying to accept a friend request you can find the notification under the “Notifications” tab in your profile.
What are “WC Points”?
These are points that you earn by doing anything that interacts with WC (daily visits, comments, likes, post views, etc). The more points a user has, the more the user interacts with WC and the longer the user has been a member with WC most likely. To find how many points you have, go to your profile!

Can I do anything to support WC?
Yes! First, you could buy WC credits or Diamonds with money under “WC Membership page” > “Buy WC Credits” Second you can share WC with your friends and family! It helps so much!
Where is WC’s YouTube Channel?
I found a glitch in WC’s Website!
Oh no! This is fairly normal given how WC is a fairly new site with lots of moving pieces! WC is always making updates but can sometimes cause issues for certain users. If you find an issue, please use the form below to specify the issue and select the “I found a bug on WC” query. WC will get back to you shortly.
How often is WC Updated?
Very often since it is a new site. Once a Week or so. Please report any major bugs in the form below. Please ignore any minor bugs since it is common during maintenance on site.
How Often is there a Blog?
Update Blogs come out every week or two. When there is Severe Weather or Weather news, there may be more blogs. Also follow WC on its YouTube channel and in WC Groups!
Why is WC Slow?
There could be about three reasons for that. First, WC is a very large and intensive website to run effectively. If you are navigating on mobile, expect some slowness. Computers handle WC very well. Second, a strong WIFI connection is recommended since many 3rd party resources must connect as well. Lastly, if you are simply trying to find weather data and you experience your slowness on the website as a logged in user, try logging out if you don’t necessarily have to be logged in so that way you can receive the lighting fast data! One thing that helps users is by adding WC is an app! Go to the homepage on WC to learn how!

How do I leave a comment on a WC blog?
Simply Go to the blog you wish to comment on, scroll down to the bottom and you should find a “Leave a Reply” Box. If you are logged in, you can start typing away! If not, simply login with Google, Facebook, and many other platforms or just add your email and name… then you are all set!

How do I view a past radar on WC?
How do I find Past Weather info?
Go to Texas Weather Center’s called “Historical Weather Data” to find a huge amount of weather data. Also go to WC’s station on PWS! If you can’t find what you need., go to WeatherUnderground or AccuWeather for great past weather data. NOTE: Historical Weather Data page is NOT designed for mobile users, so do not be suprised to see broken content on mobile. The page simply cannot run properly on mobile dimensions.

How often is the “WC Photos” page updated?
WC uploads a handful of its own photos plus potentially a few by several Texas Weather Center contributors about once a month. Usually only 3-4 are added unless for certain circumstances there is a large drop of photos. In most cases, WC will remove certain photos and replace them with better and more current ones.
