Tropical Storm Cristobal is here and is threatening the coast of Louisiana and Mississippi! With this storm packing a punch with heavy rain, winds, and potentially deadly storm surge, we must take heed of the warnings and KNOW THE STORM before it hits. If you have loved ones or friends you know in the path, please contact them and let them know– even share this blog to them via #WeatherCenter. Let’s get to the data and what we could see with this storm.
This storm, while still only a tropical storm, is no joke. While the impact of the storm is not going to be anywhere near devastating, it will pack a punch. Current stats of the storm are listed here:
This storm could hit around Tomorrow night or Monday. It is expected to strengthen, become a CAT 1 Hurricane, and then move up North-Northeast toward the East Coast. Places in that path will receive rain and showers. Places on the Coasts like Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi could see heavy rains and thunderstorms, even a chance of tornadoes and flash flooding. Of course the main impact zone of the T-Storm Cristobal will receive the greatest amount of weather.
Again, Storm Surge and Flash Flooding in Hurricanes is what kills. Just be aware, take the warnings in your area seriously, and evacuate if told too. It’s better to play it safe and leave than lose your life. Stay weather aware y’all.
